Obamacare is a disaster; not even single payer universal health care could correct the problem(s).
Nothing short of a National Public Health Care System can fix the health care mess in this country...
Public Financing; Public Administration and Public Delivery--- a real controversial idea; about as controversial as public education.
Obamacare should be referred to by a name that really reflects just what it is:
"The health insurance and pharmaceutical industry bailout and profit maximization act of 2010."
- 4 people like this.
- Jason Sweeting I don't know why Dems are on board with the ACA when we all know Universal Healthcare is what we should have!
- Ken Renner 60 Minutes hung thier story on Steven Brill's new book, which did not say what 60 Minutes said he said. What saddens me is that 60 Minutes is so uninformed on ObamaCare.
- Jacob Goren this thread is more evidence that the far left is committed to cutting off their noses to spite their faces. If there had been no Obamacare, there would have been nothing. If Democrats had held out for single payer, it wouldn't have happened. The far left: sabotaging Democrats for 50 years.
- Jacob Goren the far left cares as much about facts, Michael, as the far right does. I have done battle with them here in Madison for decades.
- Jacob Goren He had nothing to apologize for. The average American voter is relatively stupid. Sheeple.
- Alan L. Maki Obamacare is a flat out disaster. Just like Obama himself. Working people have gotten nothing from Obama... or the Democrats for over 50 years. Unless, of course you count Hubert Humphrey's Communist Control Act as some kind of benevolent legislation, too.
- Alan L. Maki By the way, just like Obama claimed to be the peace candidate... or so all you phony leftists and progressives led people to believe your lies, Obama campaigned for the nomination on the basis he was for single-payer and then he wouldn't even tolerate a discussion of single payer once elected. Obama is owned by Wall Street and that is who he, and the Democrats, work for.
- Alan L. Maki And none other than Wall Street's very own Forbes Magazine go to the defense of Obamacare:
http://www.forbes.com/.../60-minutes-just-called.../forbes.com|By Dan Diamond - Jacob Goren So, bolt from the Democratic Party? Run a third party candidate and ensure that Jeb Bush gets elected? How did that work out for you in 2000? Haha.
- Gail Anderson WELL IF IT WASN'T FOR OBAMACARE, I WOULD NOT BE ALIVE TODAY. I LOVE OUR PRESIDENT FOR GIVING US HEALTHCARE.
- Margaret Attridge Yeah....this Obamacare thing is totally wrecking the Houston economy....http://m.chron.com/.../Watch-Memorial-Hermann-Katy...After the concrete has cured, the elements are "tilted" to...chron.com
- Margaret Attridge http://lm.facebook.com/l.php...Healthcare Design Magazine: Architecture and Interior...healthcaredesignmagazine.com
- Margaret Attridge Just a disaster.....no new jobs here....
http://www.houstonchronicle.com/.../Texas-Children-s...Texas Children's Hospital will spend an estimated $506...houstonchronicle.com - Margaret Attridge Actually, Alan L. Maki, I am a medical document analyst at a law firm. Our clients, some of them who have been uninsured for YEARS now have access to healthcare.So....yeah.....it IS saving lives.Soooooo.......STFU.....THANKS!
- Alan L. Maki The only "vile bullshit" here comes from you ignorant Obama supporters who are preparing to support another warmonger like Hillary Clinton.
- Alan L. Maki Obamacare works on the basis of helping a few while hurting the many. Typical of how selfish you are.
- Alan L. Maki For less than the cost of Obama's dirty wars, we could have a world-class National Public Health Care system--- free health care for all--- pre-natal to the grave.
- James R. Franklin Last time I looked "President Obama didn't start those wars.
"A few" ? , 10 million. INSURANCE works on the same principle. Sometimes it helps a few who have serious illnesses, while those of us who are healthy use it very little. Most collective efforts operate on the same principle.
Doing something collectively doesn't always mean everyone will get equal benefits or equal use. just that they will all have access. - Ron DeMattio Alan what crawled up your ass? Don't take it out on us. We try to have discussions here, not attacks.
- Alan L. Maki I made a post, Ron. Look who started the vile attacks. You are very selfish and inconsiderate people more into political opportunism than the best interests of the American people which would be best served by a National Public Health Care System--- health care for people not Wall Street's profits.
- Alan L. Maki Oh, and then a most vile attack was made on me and other leftists and the cowardly author of those vile remarks then deleted his vicious comments fearful of trying to defend them.
- Jacob Goren I didn't delete ANYthing. I blocked YOU. I'm glad that I just unblocked you. This is getting interesting now. For a change, I have some backup. Here in Madison, as I alluded to, we have been dealing with people like you for a long time. For instance, four years ago, when the people were trying to make a positive statement against our fascist Governor Walker, the far left idiots showed up so that the national media only showed them with their socialist garbage. It destroyed most of the good that the 200,000 people who showed up we're trying to accomplish.
- Jacob Goren You are the coward, Alan. You and your ilk are like little children stomping your feet. You are no different than the far right. It doesn't change from one decade to the other. You and your ilk can never win so you figure you might as well just knock the game off of the table. Ralph Nader probably did not cost Al Gore the election in 2000. If he did, was it worth making the point? How about the United decision? It wouldn't have happened if Al Gore had won that election. You people will never get it. As for me, I will never have abide from each according to his ability, to each according to his need. I want the surgeon operating on my brain to be paid 10 times more than the person who is frying my hamburger. If that makes me a fascist, then I would wear that moniker proudly.
- Jack Watkins Well I was enjoying a nice little dinner break and heard the skirmish on deck. After a review of the Post and subsequent commentary I believe it may be time to pull the plug on this exercise in Leftist perfection and Obama bashing.
No, the ACA is far from perfect, nor does it yet meet many of our ideals, which largely tend toward Universal Healthcare (e.g. Medicare for all); but at least let's provide some Links, Mr. Maki - if you're going to posit such items - to establish a better platform for debate and discussion.
Not surprised that your Post was poorly received - but I hope cooler heads will prevail, otherwise there's little choice than to strike the entire dialog and hope for a better tomorrow.
http://www.forbes.com/.../60-minutes-just-called.../forbes.com|By Dan Diamond - Jacob Goren PLEASE don't delete the thread, Jack Watkins. It's perfect. It is quite demonstrative of what is going on in this country.
- Robert Brenden ^0 Minutes is just another facet of the big lie we are subject to every day in the land of the free
- Alan L. Maki Jacob; you are just a red-baiting little bastard goose-stepping backwards in the footprints of Joe McCarthy and Hubert H. Humphrey.

So, Alan Maki has continued his tantrum over here by reposting a discussion from Facebook? One sees better behavior in a high school cafeteria when cheerleaders get into a cat fight.
