Some people are saying that this repression will increase because of the influx into Washington of Republicans... but, the Democrats have done their share of dirty work subverting the constitution and because of so much focus on that bastard Joe McCarthy, a Republican, the Democrats as a source of repression in their own right are being over-looked... It should be pointed out that while Joe McCarthy is a Republican politician most identified with political persecution... some of the most vicious undemocratic and repressive bastards have been Democrats: Martin Dies (The Dies Committee); Pat McCarran (the McCarran Act); and that great "liberal"--- Hubert H. Humphrey who was the primary author of the "granddaddy" of them all the"Communist Control Act." Not to mention the way Robert Kennedy served Joe McCarthy with such a passion and it is Barack Obama who kept on Robert Mueller at the FBI.
