I just love it when Democratic Party hacks announce on FaceBook they have a “zero tolerance” policy on their pages for “criticism of the Dems until after the Election” as Lizzie has done in removing my posts… consider this: there is always the next election so criticism is never in order.

‎@Lizzie; No one is talking about "perfection." We are talking about getting "something" in return for our votes. This is not being "spoiled." Democrats have no right to expect the votes of working people without delivering something in ret...urn... we have seen "bi-partisan compromise" but no compromise when it comes to the standard of living of working people from Obama and his Administration... how do women feel about the failure of the Obama Administration to enforce affirmative action as billions of their tax-dollars go to the coffers of Wall Street profiteers under the guise of "stimulus funding?"

How far do we take your analogy: " I guess women are USED to dealing with imperfect situations and making the best of them."

If we take this analogy to its logical conclusion you should come meet some of the women I work with who come to work each day with new lumps, cuts and bruises because they follow this "logic."

Getting beat up by your friends and partners and then turning around and voting for them under the guise that "this is an imperfect situation" makes no sense at all to me.

Even if you are correct, and I don't think you are, that this is the time to go all out to vote for the Dems this would not preclude discussing building a progressive third party alternative... it is possible for people to walk and talk and chew gum at the same time.

I have put in a lot of hours of my life working for Democratic candidates, and I continue to do so when they are the least little bit progressive as in the case of the Minnesota Democratic Party's candidate for governor, Mark Dayton who has brought forward a campaign advocating "tax the rich" and has voiced support for teachers and public employees along with his public promise to enforce affirmative action. Is Dayton perfect? No; but at least he provides things of substance making him worthy of receiving the votes of working people. I expect no less from Barack Obama and any other Democrat in return for my vote.
