The problem with the lawsuit filed against Obama’s health care legislation

Alan L. Maki

The problem is, right-wingers are bringing this lawsuit and the real issues are never going to be properly heard by the court. I find it interesting that the United Steelworkers and the AFL-CIO can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars filing a brief against the Chinese for controlling their own currency in a way that benefits the Chinese people but these same unions haven't bothered to challenge Obama's "Health Insurance and Pharmaceutical Industry Bailout and Profit Maximization Act of 2010" which uses the "color of law" in a discriminatory way to coerce people into purchasing health insurance from private-for-profit corporations pretending this is no different from making people pay into Social Security, a wholly public, governmental institution.

In fact, Obama and the Democrats could have established the very same national public health care program that Franklin Roosevelt's Secretary of Labor, Frances Perkins, advocated at the time and paid for it in the very same way as Social Security is paid for through employee/employer payroll deductions/contributions.
This right-wing challenge in the courts will never make these important points... why no challenge from the ACLU?
